An industry is a narrower group of companies that produce similar products or provide similar services within a broader sector. While a sector covers a wide area of the economy, an industry focuses on a more specific market segment, such as software or hardware within the technology sector. Companies within the same industry compete for the same customers and operate in a very similar business environment.
Why Industry?
Just like with sectors, we also look for stocks that belong to strong and promising industries. Stocks from such industries have greater growth potential because they benefit from positive sentiment and favorable market conditions within that segment.
